Michael and Brandy have a diverse background in orthopedic, neuromuscular, and upper extremity rehabilitation. They have treated a wide variety of work and sport injuries including fractures, strains, sprains, dislocations, cumulative trauma disorders, tendon injuries and repairs, motor vehicle accidents, neck and back injuries, arthroplasties, arthrosis, crush injuries, amputations, and re-plantations.
Services they provide include manual therapy techniques for joint mobilizations and focused area massage, neuromuscular reeducation of movement and coordination, ROM, scar and edema management, specific exercise programs to strengthen and stabilize, customized static and dynamic splinting, wound care, body mechanics training, work rehabilitation and job modification, patient education and development of home exercise programs to return clients to optimal health.
Brandy & Michael have been co-owners of Bonney Lake Physical Therapy & Hand Rehab since 2009.
Brandy completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Puget Sound in 1994. Early in her career, she had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including hospital acute and sub-acute rehab, skilled nursing facilities, and industrial rehab. She went on to specialize in orthopedic treatment of the upper extremity and earned her credentials as a Certified Hand Therapist in 2005. Brandy’s expertise lies in treating cumulative and traumatic injuries to the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Her training includes sports rehab of the upper extremity, industrial injury rehabilitation, pre and postoperative rehabilitation, fabricating custom molded splints, and wound care. Brandy is a strong believer in lifelong learning and evidence-based practice and strives to provide the most up to date rehab techniques and services.
Shelly completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at Loma Linda University in 2001. She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient rehab, hospital acute and swing bed rehab, in addition to outpatient occupational therapy. Upper extremity hand to shoulder therapy is Shelly’s favorite setting to work in and she has enjoyed more focused work in the upper extremity setting since 2009. Shelly has been part of the Bonney Lake Therapy team since December of 2018. In her free time, Shelly likes spending time outdoors with her husband and kids hiking, camping, backpacking, kayaking, gardening, and traveling around the world.
Constance grew up in Western Washington and obtained her BA from the University of Washington. She then went on to get her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, graduating in 2014. She was drawn to hand therapy when her friend was in a bad accident and went through rehab, subsequently making a great recovery with the help of her dedicated therapy team. Constance has a passion for helping her patients through recovery and healing of their upper extremities. She herself recovered from a arm break in 2016, and is grateful to be able to do her hobbies of kayaking, hiking, cycling, working out, cooking, and painting. Her and her husband purchased a house in Federal Way and live there with their cat.
Kristina graduated from Green River College in 2020 with her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and credentials as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. She had the privilege of doing her Level 2 Fieldwork at Bonney Lake Physical Therapy and Hand Rehab and is excited to be part of the team. She enjoys the challenge of working on the upper extremities and continues to learn to provide the best care for her patients. Kristina is happily married to her husband Jason and they have four kids. In her spare time, her favorite things to do are camping, swimming, hiking and making memories with her family.
Michael attended the University of Washington then graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 1990. His experience draws from working in a number of treatment settings including his own private practice clinics, other outpatient and sports clinics, hospitals, work hardening clinics, Nursing homes, Rehab Agencies, and Home Health Agencies. With his many years in practice, Michael is experienced in treating a wide spectrum of Orthopedic and Neurological conditions including patients ranging from children to the adult aged population. Michael lives in the area, has two adult children and loves the community environment of Bonney Lake and the surrounding areas. He enjoys snowboarding, boating, outdoor activities, and living in the great northwest. Michael states, “The highlight of my career has been working in my home community and being a part of what makes our area special. Thank you to those who have entrusted their care to me over the years.”
Blake obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Biology/Pre-PT from Washington State University in 2012 and proceeded to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Utah in 2016. His research in school was primarily focused on vestibular and balance disorders and prides himself in treating Orthopedic and Sports related injuries. He believes in providing the latest ‘evidence-based treatment’ to provide patients with the best possible outcomes and the tools to return to a healthy and active pain-free lifestyle. Blake grew up in the South Sound and now lives in his wife’s hometown of Enumclaw with their beautiful daughter. He enjoys going on walks around town with his girls, riding and building motorcycles, jet-skiing, duck hunting, fishing, and ‘going fast.’
Paul grew up in Wisconsin, studied music at several colleges in Ohio, and is a graduate of the Washington University School of Medicine, Program in Physical Therapy, in St. Louis MO. In 1999, he moved to Roy, WA to enjoy the Northwest and start a family. He had his own PT clinic in Yelm for about 10 years and now lives on South Hill. Paul has worked exclusively in outpatient orthopedics here in the South Sound. During this time he has had the opportunity to work with many of the area's finest family practice physicians and orthopedic surgeons. His vast experience and compassion give him the ability to treat each patient as an individual and design an effective treatment plan that will fit their goals - whether it's returning to family life, work, or sports. These days he enjoys spending time with his family and teenage son, fishing, hunting, traveling, and dabbling in music and photography.
Jen completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis on Physical Therapy at Concordia University, Nebraska in 1994. She began her career in therapy in 1992 as a Physical Therapy Technician, then earned her credentials as a Physical Therapy Assistant from the PTA program at Green River College in 2000. Jen has since continued practicing physical therapy, specializing in outpatient and manual care. When Jen is not at work, she enjoys wakesurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, snowboarding, and traveling around the world.
Jamin Phillips has been practicing Massage Therapy since 2006. She is a graduate of Ashmead School of Massage in Seattle, Washington. She specializes in treatment and rehabilitative therapy, usually occurring after an injury, surgery, motor vehicle accident, or work injury. She enjoys helping people to rebound faster while reducing pain. She loves deep tissue work and is certified at massage cupping. After working in Kirkland and Bellevue for the last 13 years, she recently married and is new to the Bonney Lake area. She is very excited to continue her massage practice at Bonney Lake Physical Therapy & Hand Rehab and couldn’t ask for a better team of people to work alongside of to help facilitate your treatment care goals!
